Camelot is a premium, private golf club with state-of-the-art practice facilities and a majestic Clubhouse featuring a modern, three-level patio overlooking both the golf course and the Ottawa River. As a prospective Member, there is much to learn about the lifestyle that is Camelot. But once you join, you’ll wonder why you waited?

Camelot Golf & Country Club’s history began when local business people purchased 3 parcels of land in 1988 in the town of Cumberland. The name “Camelot”,the site of King Arthur’s palace and court in medieval times, was chosen because it was located in the county of Cumberland. The castle theme remains today through the architecture of the clubhouse and its surroundings.

Camelot's golf course has been designed by Thomas McBroom, one of Canada’s pre-eminent golf course architects, who is renowned for creating highly rated courses. Camelot is consistently one of the best conditioned courses in the region. Bent grass greens, fairways and tees are surrounded by immaculately kept bluegrass rough and even longer fescue and native grasses. Camelot’s uniqueness is accentuated in the different styles of holes encountered on your journey.

Camelot Golf & Country Club is a premier private golf club. Premier, because of the quality of the championship course, the facilities and focus on member services. Our nationwide reputation was acknowledged most recently, as we were honored to host the 2012 Golf Canada Canadian Amateur, the premier amateur golf tournament in the country!

Befitting it’s stature as a modern Club, “equity” has been part of Camelot since the beginning. Members are equity owners or the spouse of an equity owner. Financial considerations aside, at Camelot equity also describes the entire Club philosophy and personal commitment to the Club. Without restrictions on playing privileges, common annual dues, the ability to serve on committees and the Board of Governors, Camelot is truly a reflection of its Membership.

Membership at a traditional private club has its privileges. Only Members and invited guests are entitled to play at Camelot. While no corporate tournaments are permitted at the Club, the Members have supported several prestigious charities by making the course available on a limited basis. What does this mean for you? At Camelot, you will spend your time lining up putts, not waiting for tee times. Easy access to the golf course remains a top priority.

Golf membership at Camelot doesn’t strictly focus on our golf course though, as we’ve addressed the inherent interest in golfers to improve their play by investing in state-of-the-art practice facilities. Featuring a 1-acre bent grass teeing area, a defined fairway and 8 target greens, the main range is 300 yards in length. There is a short game practice area with bent grass chipping/pitching areas as well as an additional short Game/bunker practice green that also allows you to practice fairway bunker shots. And of course a dedicated practice putting green that is contoured and cut to match that of the greens you will encounter on the course.

In addition to the renowned golf course, the Club offers special activities and days for all categories of Members. The Women at Camelot have their day where the golf course is reserved for all women to come out and enjoy friendly competition followed by a festive evening. If competition is not your strength then just a friendly round of golf can lead you into the evening. Men’s day has similar formats and activities organized throughout the season. Social activities are sprinkled throughout the golfing calendar and continue into the off-season. All of these activities create a spirit of camaraderie that solidifies your Camelot experience!

Camelot’s Junior membership, for those aged 8-18, is among the best in the city and has developed some very talented young players over the years. The golf professionals that organize all activities are all members of the Professional Golfers Association of Canada and are trained in the development and execution of such programs. Each season they hold Junior clinics, Junior camps and mentor our Junior golfers as they learn this wonderful game and begin competing both inside and outside the club. Through a Young Adult (19-39) membership program, we also encourage our Juniors to stay with the club through these years until such time as they will become an equity member themselves.

The golf shop carries the latest in equipment and apparel complete with the knowledge to fit you with the proper tools at very competitive prices. Golf instruction is available either through organized clinics, group instruction or private one-on-one sessions, by one PGA of Canada Golf Professionals. This is also where you can access the concierge services we provide should you wish to play at another private club in Canada. But why not try out one of our reciprocal clubs first? We have relationships with select private clubs in Montreal, Kingston, Toronto, Windsor & Victoria.

Food & Beverage services at Camelot are among the best in the city, featuring a variety of choices in the daily Legend menu and varied table d’hôte offerings in our dining room. Our Head Chef understands the uniqueness of dining in private clubs, and ensures you will be satisfied regardless of your palate. The clubhouse is a great setting for both formal and informal meetings as well as special events. Family, friends and business associates are encouraged to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Weddings and receptions are handled with care, ensuring your family’s special days are even more memorable.

The first step in the application process is to contact our General Manager Andreas Spove. He will arrange a personal tour of our facilities at a time convenient to you. He will also provide pertinent information and be able to address any questions you may have in a relaxed and private atmosphere.
